A disturbing Tripura assault case has come to light, triggering outrage and concern. Police have arrested an employee of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) for allegedly attacking an eight-year-old autistic girl in a residential colony.
The accused, identified as Deep Golap Das, works in the fire department of ONGC. According to officials, he has been booked under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including 126(2), 117(2), 308(2), and 353(3).
The incident surfaced after the child’s parent filed a complaint on March 24 at Amtali police station. Soon after, police registered a case and began an investigation. As the probe progressed, officers confirmed that the child had been physically assaulted and subjected to severe abuse. Consequently, the accused was taken into custody.
Preliminary findings suggest the incident occurred while the child was playing near the ONGC colony. Reports indicate she had scribbled “ABCD” on the accused’s car, which allegedly triggered a violent reaction.
Moreover, a psychologist who reviewed the case described the assault as deeply disturbing. The child reportedly suffered multiple bruises across her body and needed medical treatment for two days. Such severity has raised serious questions about safety within residential communities.
Meanwhile, police have assured that the investigation is ongoing. They are examining all aspects to ensure strict legal action.
This Tripura assault case has sparked widespread anger, with many demanding justice and stronger protection for vulnerable children.
