A deeply touching moment unfolded when a statue of Zubeen Garg was unveiled beside his cherished Bakul tree at his home in Kahilipara. The unveiling created an overwhelming emotional atmosphere for everyone present.

The ceremony was attended by Zubeen’s father, Kapil Borthakur, his wife Garima Garg, family members, and hundreds of admirers. After the statue was revealed, Zubeen’s father gently touched the sculpture of his son—affectionately known as Goldie—a moment that moved the crowd to tears.

Tributes were not limited to Kahilipara. Celebrations also took place at Zubeen Kshetra in Sonapur and Sarusajai, where thousands gathered to honor his memory.

At the Sonapur venue, events included a blood donation camp, Naam-Prasang, plantation of Nahor saplings, and an evening ritual of lighting 5,000 diyas. Later, 500 sky lanterns illuminated the night sky, symbolizing hope and remembrance. Cultural performances, including Bhaona, added to the day-long tribute.
