SIT to Meet Singapore Police on October 21 on Zubeen Garg death case

In the ongoing investigation into the death of Assam’s music legend Zubeen Garg, a team of Assam Police led by SIT chief Munna Prasad Gupta will meet Singapore Police officials on October 21 to discuss crucial aspects of the case.

Announcing the development, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma termed it a significant step toward ensuring justice for Zubeen Garg, reaffirming the government’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind the incident.

Over the last 28 days, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has made substantial progress, arresting most of the accused, who are now in judicial custody after completing their police remand.

According to official sources, statements from 10 to 11 members of the Assam Association in Singapore have already been recorded. The SIT has also recovered the complete video footage from the yacht where Zubeen Garg tragically lost his life. This evidence expected to play a key role in understanding the sequence of events leading to his death.

The SIT, working under close supervision of senior officials, aims to submit a detailed chargesheet within the 90-day. The legal timeframe to ensure a strong case in court.

The upcoming Assam–Singapore police meeting is expected to enhance international cooperation and help to reconstruct the final moments.
