SABALA SCHEME FOR ADOLESCENT GIRL : Sabala is a developmental scheme run by West Bengal State Governemnt which mainly empowers adolesecent girls. In other words, it is a scheme that is engaged in the overall development of girls.

The scheme is being implemented in seven districts of the state of West Bengal in tandem with the Kanyashreee Scheme. In fact, under this scheme, the state government is working for the physical and mental development of girls in the age group of 11 to 18 years in the state of West Bengal.

On the other hand, the scheme has provided training to adolescent girls to become proficient in various subjects. Health, sexual & hygiene are also being raised under this scheme.

The overall work of the scheme is carried out through various Anganwari organizations in the state. Though the main branches which are responsible to monitor the scheme are the Women & Child Welfare Department and the Social Welfare Department of West Bengal.

Purpose of the Sabala Scheme For Adolescent Girl :

Sabala aims at empowering Adolescent Girls of 11 to 18 years by improving their nutritional and health status, up gradation of home skills, life skills and vocational skills. The girls would be equipped with information on health and family welfare, hygiene and guidence on existing public services. The scheme also aims to mainstream out of school girls into formal education or non-formal education.
