Other commonly consumed varieties have also become costlier.
Rice Prices in Guwahati: Latest Rates
- BPT Rice: ₹55 to ₹65 per kg
- Sona Shakti: ₹65 to ₹75 per kg
- Aijong Rice: ₹38 to ₹42 per kg
- Barpeta Aijong: ₹50 to ₹60 per kg
- Ushna Rice: ₹55 to ₹60 per kg
- Joha Rice: ₹100 to ₹130 per kg
Joha has seen the biggest jump among the varieties listed above. Its ₹30-per-kg increase stands out in the latest market figures.
Meanwhile, BPT rice has increased by ₹10 per kg. Sona Shakti has also gone up by ₹10. Barpeta Aijong has recorded a similar increase. Aijong and Ushna rice have seen comparatively smaller rises.
