Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 20th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on 2nd August 2025 from Varanasi.
Agriculture Indian stated, “Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi, another step towards empowered farmers and a prosperous nation. With a single click by the Honorable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi, an amount of over ₹20,500 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9.70 crore farmers across the country through DBT. This is not just financial assistance, but a significant step towards farmers’ self-respect and prosperity.
In this instalment, over 9.7 crore farmers across the country will receive direct financial assistance of approximately ₹20,500 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency and eliminating any role of middlemen.”

What is PM-Kisan Scheme?
- PM-Kisan is a 100% centrally funded scheme by the Government of India.
- The financial assistance is transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible farmers.
- Under the scheme, ₹6,000 per year is provided in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.
- Landholding farmer families receive this amount every four months into their Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
