The Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Scheme 2023, led by Chief Minister YSR Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh, aims to uplift women from the minority community. Under this initiative, women in the state will receive sheep and goats, fostering sustainable livelihoods. The government is allocating approximately Rs. 1868.63 crore for the scheme, providing 2.49 lakh units of sheep and goats to the entire population. Each unit consists of 14 sheep or goats, making this a significant program for women in the backward category.

Benefits Of YSR Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Scheme :
The scheme entails providing units of sheep and goats to women from backward and minority categories. This significant initiative by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh empowers women to lead independent lives. Under the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Jeeva Kranti Yojana 2023, beneficiaries will receive Rs. 75,000 to cover transport and insurance expenses. Additionally, the scheme includes the distribution of 4.69 lakh units of cows and buffaloes, with an allocation of 3,500 crores to bolster the dairy sector.

Objective Of Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Yojana :
The primary goal of introducing the Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Scheme is to foster partnerships and create business opportunities for individuals aspiring for self-reliance. This initiative offers diverse opportunities for women in backward categories, leading to an increase in job prospects. Additionally, 31 lakh housing sites are allocated to women and will be registered in their names. Women can purchase local sheep and goats from their respective regions, with guidance from a committee comprising two veterinary doctors, SERP officials, and bank representatives, ensuring they select suitable units at reasonable prices.
Eligibility Criteria :
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scheme:-
- The applicant must only be a women
- An applicant must be above the age of 45 years
- The applicant must be below the age of 60 years
- The applicant must belong to one of the following categories:-
- Backward Classes (BC)
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Minority communities

Species Of Sheep :
The concerned authorities of the Andhra Pradesh government will provide the following species of sheep in this opportunity;-
- Nellore Brown
- Macharla Brown
- Vizianagaram breeds
- Black Bengal in goats
- Native breeds
Implementation Procedure Of Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Scheme :
The scheme will implement in the following three stages:-
- In Phase 1, the distribution of 20,000 units will begin till March 2021
- Phase two will conclude the distribution of 130000 units in the second installment from April to August 2021.
- The third and last installment will begin in September with the distribution of 99000 units and will conclude in December 2021.
