A shocking case of sexual assault has emerged from a private educational institution in Guwahati, where a teacher allegedly molested a female medical student during a practical session.
The incident occurred at the Asian Institute of Paramedical Science in Kahilipara. According to reports, the accused teacher, identified as Abdul Karim, allegedly touched the student inappropriately during a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) practical class.
The victim, who belongs to the Adivasi community, was studying under a scholarship provided by the Adivasi Welfare Board. Following the incident, the Bhagadattapur Police swiftly arrested the accused teacher based on the complaint filed by the student.
Shockingly, sources revealed that Abdul Karim had faced similar allegations of misconduct in the past at the same institute, raising questions about the institution’s internal mechanisms to ensure student safety.
An investigation is currently underway, and police officials have assured that strict action will be taken following due legal procedures.
