Durga Puja Navami 2024: Navami is the ninth day of Durga Puja Festival. Durga Puja, the grand annual festival celebrated predominantly in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand, and other parts of India. It marks final day of Durga Puja before Dashami or Visarjan.
Devotee believed that on this day Goddess Durga killed Mahishasura after a fierce battle that spanned several days, restoring peace and dharma. On this day people wear their special attire and arrived at Pandals.

Ritual of Durga Puja Navami 2024
Kumari Puja: On Navami Puja the most important ritual is Kumari Puja, where nine young girls (representing the nine forms of Durga) are worshipp as living embodiments of the goddess.
Maha Navami Yagna: On this day, a sacred fire ritual called homa or yagna is performed. Devotees offer various items, such as ghee (clarified butter), sesame seeds, and grains, into the fire, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic mantras.
Navami Bhog: Different types of fruit, sweets and special prepared food offered to goddess Durga.
Aarti and Pushpanjali: After offering Bhog, devotee offer flower at the goddess feet while chanting mantras. Priest perform Aarti by waving lamps in front of Goddess Durga idol.
Distributing Prashad: After Puja the bhog of ma Durga will distributed among devotee as Prasad.
