DSP Sandipan Garg Sent to 7-Day SIT Custody in Zubeen Garg Death Probe

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sandipan Garg, cousin of late singer Zubeen Garg, has remanded to seven days of custody under the Special Investigation Team (SIT). He has been produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

According to sources, the SIT had sought 14 days of custody, but the court granted only seven days.

DSP Sandipan Garg, reportedly present on the yacht in Singapore at the time of the tragic incident that claimed Zubeen Garg’s life. Earlier this week, SIT questioned him for five consecutive days as part of the widening probe. Following today’s interrogation, he was formally arrested and taken into custody for further investigation.

The grounds for his arrest have not yet been disclosed. Authorities said more details will emerge as the investigation into Zubeen Garg’s death continues.
