Days after the deadly car blast near Delhi’s historic Red Fort that killed at least 13 people and injured over 20. The Centre has officially classified the Delhi Red Fort blast as a “terror incident.” The declaration comes as investigative agencies uncover multiple chilling details linking the blast to a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed terror module.
Centre Confirms Delhi Red Fort Blast as “Terror Incident”
A government statement issued on Wednesday confirmed that the explosion is being probed under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), terrorism, and explosive-related charges.
“The country has witnessed a heinous terror incident, perpetrated by anti-national forces through a car explosion near the Red Fort on November 10, 2025,” the statement read.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, reiterating India’s zero-tolerance policy toward terrorism.
Is Delhi Red Fort Blast Panic Explosion or Planned Attack?
Investigators are exploring multiple possibilities — whether the blast was premeditated, panic-triggered, or accidental due to an unstable device.
Sources suggest the explosion occurred after Delhi Police and intelligence agencies closed in on a Faridabad-based terror module, leading to panic among suspects. One of the arrested doctors, Dr. Umar Nabi, is believed to have connections to the Faridabad cell.
Telegram Chats Reveal “Clear Jaish Angle”
According to officials, digital forensics revealed Telegram chats between the arrested doctors and Jaish-e-Mohammed handlers in Pakistan.
A senior officer confirmed:
“An initial analysis of the seized devices shows direct communication with Jaish handlers through Telegram.”
The findings expose a wider network of highly educated and radicalised operatives working under foreign direction.
Arrested Doctor’s Past Unfolds
The ex-husband of one of the accused, Dr. Shaheen Shahid, shared that he was shocked to learn about her involvement.
Dr. Zafar Hayat, an ophthalmologist at Kanpur’s KPM Hospital, told reporters:
“Shaheen wanted us to move abroad, but I chose to stay. She left us in 2015, and I never imagined she’d take such a path.”
