Cachar road accident

In a tragic road accident in Assam’s Cachar district, a college student lost her life after the scooter she was riding pillion on collided with a parked truck at Masimpur on the Silchar–Kalain road on Tuesday (November 12).

The deceased has been identified as Ferdousi Barbhuiya, a resident of Chandpur in Borkhola. She was returning home from Silchar with her father, Nazim Uddin, who was driving the scooter, when the accident occurred.

According to reports, a speeding gas tanker approached from behind and hit their scooter, causing it to crash into a stationary truck. The impact was severe, and Ferdousi sustained fatal head injuries, dying instantly at the scene.

Police arrived shortly after the incident, recovered the body, and sent it to Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) for post-mortem examination.

Local residents have expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents involving reckless heavy vehicles, calling for stricter enforcement of traffic rules to ensure road safety, particularly for two-wheeler riders.
