Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has released a new scheme named Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan for the youth. This scheme aimed at addressing the issue of unemployment and fostering inclusive progress in the state. It will empower the youth with self-employment opportunities and seeking collaboration from the various stakeholder. The Assam Government is taking significance step towards to build a more self-reliant and prosperous Assam.
Through these Scheme 2 lakh educated unemployment youth beneficiaries has been targeted over 2 years. From FY 2023-24 to FY 2025-26. Those who wants to apply for the scheme they can apply online here. All the details are given below.
Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan details

No. of targeted Beneficiaries: 2 lakhs
Types of scheme: Financial Assistance
Financial year: 2023-24 and 2025-26
Financial Assistance: Rupees 2 Lakh or 5 Lakh
- Provide self employment to all categories of educated Youth through suitable mechanism.
- Create entrepreneur-oriented ecosystem in the state of Assam.
- Generate employment opportunities in rural and urban areas through setting up of new/existing ventures.
- Provide financial assistance to enterprising individuals and groups to undertake new/existing economic activities.
- Strengthen the State Government’s special focus on rural economy.
Eligibility Criteria of Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan
Education Qualification
A candidate must have minimum qualification class X pass for General category
A candidate must have the minimum qualification upto class X for SC/ST/OBC category.
A Candidate of ITI, Polytechnic, Diploma in other Technical Courses, Post Graduates can avail to take the loan.
Degree Holders in Professional courses like Engineering, MBBS, BDS, Veterinary, Fisheries, Agriculture, CA etc. are also avail to take the loan.
Resident:
A must be a permanent resident of Assam
Age limit
An individual should be above 28 years and below 40 years on 1st April 2023
Age relaxation: Upper age limit of SC/ST/OBC category is 43 years.
The applicant must have the proper registration certificate of Employment Exchange.
Professional Skills: The applicant should possess skills, experiences, knowledge, etc., to undertake the income generating activities.
Bank Account: The applicants should have a bank account, which has been opened before 31st December 2023.
Family members: Not more than one member from any family shall be eligible for availing benefit under this scheme.
