Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Junior Engineer of Central Water Commission (CWC), Megna Sub-Division, Silchar, Cachar, Assam for accepting demanded bribe on September 18.
The accused junior engineer identified as Ayush Kumar, a Junior Engineer of Central Water Commission (CWC), Megna Sub-Division, Silchar, Cachar, Assam.
He was trapped handed for accepting Rs. 12,000/- bribe from complainant.
CBI informed that a case registered on 18.09.24 against the accused Ayush Kumar and unknown public servants /others on allegations that accused demanded a bribe from the complainant for clearing payments of Rs. 1.55 lakh (approx.) pertaining to the hiring of a vehicle of the complainant by CWC, Silchar.
Based on complaint CBI laid a trap, in which the accused caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 12,000/- from the complainant for clearing his pending bills in Silchar.
Searches has been conducted by CBI in various location.
Further investigation is going into this matter.
