Cachar Police has seized a huge amount of drugs worth Rs 5.55 Crore in Silchar on 27 June, 2025. Police arrested one drugs peddler in connection of it.
On 27 June, Cacharpolice launched an anti-narcotics operation under Assam drugs Free on Silchar-Aizwal Bypass, from where police intercepted a Bolero Vehicle. While searching the vehicle police managed to recovered 100 soap case containing 1.109 kg of Heroin valued at ₹5.55 crore.
One drugs peddler arrested, who identified 22 years old man, residents of Manipur.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, “Acting on credible intelligence, Cachar Police conducted a decisive anti-narcotics operation in Silchar, intercepting a vehicle and seizing:
