Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme, a government initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), aimed at providing free healthcare to senior citizens aged 70 and above.

In 2018, PM Narendra Modi introduced the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme. On 29.10.2024, Government of India expanded Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to provide free treatment benefits of up to ₹5 lakh per year to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their socio-economic status including tribal communities.

Free Treatment coverage upto Rs 5 Lakh Annually

The Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card provides annual health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh for senior citizens aged 70 and above.

Cashless Treatment

The eligible senior citizen can avail for cashless treatment at the selected hospital. The list of the hospital gave below. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for the treatment; the government covers it directly with the hospital.

No Income Limit: Available to all senior citizens, irrespective of their financial status.
