Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme, a government initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), aimed at providing free healthcare to senior citizens aged 70 and above.
In 2018, PM Narendra Modi introduced the Ayushman Vay Vandana Scheme. On 29.10.2024, Government of India expanded Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) to provide free treatment benefits of up to ₹5 lakh per year to all senior citizens aged 70 years and above, irrespective of their socio-economic status including tribal communities.

Free Treatment coverage upto Rs 5 Lakh Annually
The Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card provides annual health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh for senior citizens aged 70 and above.
Cashless Treatment
The eligible senior citizen can avail for cashless treatment at the selected hospital. The list of the hospital gave below. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for the treatment; the government covers it directly with the hospital.
No Income Limit: Available to all senior citizens, irrespective of their financial status.
Easy and Quick Access to Healthcare
- Immediate Coverage: Once the card issued, senior citizens can avail the healthcare services immediately. No waiting period is involved for medical services.

How to create Ayushman Vay Vandana Card online at home?
- First Visit the official website of NHA beneficiary website at https://beneficiary.nha.gov.in/
- For login enter captcha and mobile number for OTP
- After getting OTP enter it and enter captcha and click LOGIN
- On the Beneficiary Search screen, enter your PMJAY ID, Ration Card Number, Family ID, or Aadhaar Card number.
- Select the option for senior citizens aged 70 and above and complete the enrollment process.
- Complete the Aadhaar-based e-KYC by entering the OTP sent to your mobile.
- Upon successful registration, the Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card will be issued.
For Offline Applicants
- Visit Enrollment Centers: Go to nearby PM-JAY empaneled hospitals or Common Service Centres
- Provide documents
- Officials will verify your documents and complete the registration process.
- The card will be issued after successful verification.
