In a major step Assam is going to launch Orunodoi 3.0 on October 7, 2025, which will benefit economically weaker sections women of Assam. Orunodoi 3.0, the state’s largest direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme aimed at ensuring dignity and financial stability for poor households.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that under the scheme in this phase, over 38 lakh families across Assam — primarily women-led households — will receive a monthly financial aid of ₹1,250, directly credited to their bank accounts.
CM Stated, “In a short while, we will be launching #Orunodoi3, Assam‘s biggest effort to assist our poor families to live a life of dignity.
Over 38 lakh families, led by women, will receive this benefit of ₹1,250/month directly in their bank accounts.”
The scheme first introduced in December 2020, has widely recognized as a flagship welfare initiative of the state. It provides financial assistance to help families meet essential needs such as food, medicine, and education.
Expansion of Orunodoi 3.0 to ASRLM Community Cadres
The cabinet has approved the inclusion of 10,186 community cadres from the Assam State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ASRLM) as beneficiaries under the Orunodoi 3.0 Scheme on 6 October, 2025.
