Assam Government approved significant increase in salary of Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, and Gaon Pradhans, effective from October 1, 2025. The decision was taken in cabinet meeting on Thursday.
Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to Receive Increased Salary
To recognize the dedicated service of Anganwadi workers and helpers, the state cabinet has approved a hike in state incentives:
- ₹1,500 increase for Anganwadi Workers
- ₹750 increase for Anganwadi Helpers
This will raise the monthly incentive to:
- ₹8,000 for Anganwadi Workers
- ₹4,000 for Anganwadi Helpers
This Anganwadi worker plays a crucial role to delivered nutrition, early childhood care and pre-school education to rural communities. The increased support will improve their livelihood and will encourage them to continued the work for social welfare.
Gaon Pradhan Salary Hiked
In another key decision Assam cabinet has approved the hike of monthly salary of Gaon Pradhans (village heads). Starting from October 1, 2025, the monthly salary will be:
The Salary will hike from the current Rs 9000 to Rs 14,000.
This decision will also apply to GPs of forest village.
