Assam Government Employee arrested after accepting bribe in Kamalpur

An Assam Government Employee arrested after for accepting demanded bribe by Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam on October 28.

The government employee identified as Hirendra Choudhury, a Senior Assistant at the Kamalpur Revenue Circle in Kamrup District.

A complaint has been filed against him, alleging that he demanded Rs 3000 bribe from a complainant for land mutation work. Based on the complaint, a team of Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam launched an operation and trapped red handed Hirendra Choudhury. He was caught immediately while accepting Rs 2,700 as a bribe from complainant.

A case has registered against him at the ACB Police Station under section 7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018).

Directorate of Vigilance & Anti-Corruption, Assam, stated via X, “Today @DIR_VAC_ASSAM trapped red handed Hirendra Choudhury, Senior Assistant, Kamalpur Revenue Circle, Distt. Kamrup after he accepted bribe from complainant for land mutation work.”

Further investigation is going on.
