Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda has been admitted to CritiCare Hospital in Juhu after he fell unconscious at his home late on Tuesday night. The 61-year-old actor reportedly fainted due to sudden disorientation, his friend and legal advisor Lalit Bindal confirmed to media.
Bindal said that Govinda was given medication after a telephonic consultation with a doctor, but when his condition did not improve, he was rushed to the hospital around 1 a.m. for emergency treatment.
“He was given medicine after consulting a doctor and was admitted to the hospital in emergency at 1 am,” Bindal told NDTV, adding that the actor has undergone several tests and is awaiting the reports. However, no further details about his health condition have been disclosed.
This is not the first health scare for the popular actor. In October last year, Govinda suffered a bullet injury in his leg after accidentally misfiring his licensed revolver at home. He was then admitted to the same CritiCare Hospital in Juhu and underwent surgery to remove the bullet.
According to his manager, the incident occurred when Govinda was keeping his revolver inside a cupboard and it accidentally went off. The actor later recalled, “I was leaving for a show in Kolkata around 5 a.m. when the gun fell and went off. I was shocked to see blood gushing out.”
After receiving prompt medical attention, Govinda had recovered fully from that incident. His fans and well-wishers are now praying for his speedy recovery following his recent health scare.
